Rove sees a lot of polls

Thursday, October 26, 2006

(SNN Washington) Many people have theorized what Karl Rove must be doing right now. Things have not been looking too good for the Republican Party. However, Mr. Rove came to NPR yesterday and explained to what was taking up the majority of his time.

MR. SIEGEL: I'm looking at all the same polls that you're looking at every day.

MR. ROVE: No you're not. No you're not!

MR. SIEGEL: No, I'm not --

MR. ROVE: I'm looking at 68 polls a week. You may be looking at four or five public polls a week.

Every day, toned young men come to Rove’s office to show him their polls. The widths of the polls and the depth to which they can penetrate varies deeply, but no matter how big or how small, Rove readily gobbles them up.

At 68 polls a week, Rove handles around ten poles a day. Depending on how many hours Rove is putting in, he must be getting a fresh package every hour to two hours. No wonder he is valued by Republicans if he can take that amount of poll.

Complaints:
I sometimes wonder if polls really tell anyone anything useful. If he spends that much time on polls it might explain why he doesn't get any useful work done? Make any useful desisions?

If I where in an office I'm not sure I would bother to look at any polls. I'd just go out and talk to the people. Or maybe create my own poll rather than trust others.

An excellant suggestion. I often make up my own poll data. The public can rarely be trusted with determining public opinion.

waaaa! I don't have a poll. newsblog can i borrow yours?

Smokes a lot of poles?

l>t

A recent poll indicated that turnout would be 40% higher if voters were given a coupon for a free Starbucks beverage.

Yes, and I know that wasn't the one you were looking for.

He's not Dave Gorman.

I think "poles" is a "code word" or a reference to the 68 Polish programmers he has hired to hack the Diebold again (You know the Russians are prone to want hush money until perpetuity, Poles are pushovers, pay once, not again).

Turd Blossom (aka High School Graduate aka Karl Rove aka Rudolph Hess) isn't showing the false confidence of a loser. I heard the NPR interview. He knows he is going to win. It isn't a question of uncertainty. Just like he knew Bush was going to win a second term.

Urggh!

That's O. K. i'll take 40% higher. The size of the poll does not really matter. Acually, 'size' is not the right word, hmmm, I can't think of the right word.

If Rove gets his way, most Americans will be getting the "pole" on Nov. 7th. He doesn't take poles; he gives the polling.

L>T, I think you were considering the LENGTH of the poll. Err, pole. Err, whatever. Since penguins have cloaca, not, uhm, polls, sorry, I'm not equipped to help you further there.
